Michael Rees, Trainer/Instructor
Michael began his equine career at age 7, going to riding camp and taking lessons in hunt seat and western at Circle K stable and YMCA's Camp Kern. He continued at Camp Kern, becoming part of the summer camp and maintenance staff. In 1994 Michael moved to Ridenour Performance Horses.  In 1995 Michael moved to Lamar, Colorado, where he obtained his Associates degree in Equine studies, specialing in cutting and reining, from Lamar Community College. In 1997 Michael began his work as assistant trainer for Stonehurst Riding Club, in Louisville, KY, where he worked predominantly with Arabians, specializing in Hunter/Jumpers. Since moving to RRR, Michael has broadened the spectrum of horses he specializes in even further. It now includes: starting and fitting  thoroughbreds for the track, starting dressage prospects, starting and polishing the skill and style of jumpers, training Arabians and Arabian crosses for the halter, country and english pleasure, hunter pleasure and western pleasure divisions. He has also had great success as an instructor and equitation coach, training beginning riders all the way through advanced, ready-for-the-show-ring students.

Angi Hartman-Rees, Instructor
Angi began riding hunt seat and western in riding camp and lessons through Girl Scout and Red Cedar Center, in Ft. Wayne, IN. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Equestrian Science from William Woods University in 1997. While in school she switched from Hunt to Saddle seat, working for such trainers as Brent Jacobs, Ed Bennett, Rich Campbell, and Marilyn McFarlane. She coordinated lesson programs for Werk Way Stables, in Lexington, KY, YMCA's Camp Kern, and Girl Scout Camp Logan, along with doing much teaching to her fellow students in college. Since coming to RRR, Angi has coordinated an active lesson program, ranging from first-time beginners to "A" circuit show riders. 
 
 
Melissa Bedwell, Assistant Trainer/Instructor
Missi began her riding career as a self-taught exercise rider at Poplar Creek Equine Center before beginning riding lessons with Michael at the age of thirteen.  She progressed quickly into a Regional Champion equitation rider on the Arabian "A" circuit.  We welcome Missi from the amature ranks in 2006 to join our training team.  Missi is shown here riding the Welsh stallion, Gayfields Silver Sprocket.
